Training Run- 8 miles!

This week I've upped my training a little bit as term was winding down so I decided to embark on an 8 mile run. I've only been able to run up to 6 miles due to leaving school late and it being dark. Running in London is verrrry different to running in Cornwall and I always try to look out for green, pretty spaces to run in- if you can recommend somewhere, let me know!
A problem I've always had is pacing. This is something I will need to correct before I do the London Marathon in April because if I set off too early, I am in danger of burning out and 'hitting a wall'.
Runners World made this great piece on marathon success, and I particularly like this little tip:
'Start slow. Run the first two to three miles 10 to 15 seconds per mile slower than goal pace. This preserves precious glycogen stores for later in the race so you can finish strong.'
I'm going to try this out on the Cornish Coast Path during half term- here's hoping I can follow this advice!
