Don't run before you can walk

One of the best things about being Cornish is the fantastic adventure playground Cornwall has on offer. I was feeling pretty sore after my 8 miler and run down from the end of term, so scheduled my first few days in Cornwall as 'rest days'. Now, these rest days shouldn't mean that you should slack off marathon training entirely. The experts reckon that gentle exercise that gets your heart rate up, without putting too much strain on your joints and muscles, can be excellent gentle training alongside allowing your body to recover from high-intensity training.
Thus, I embarked on a little coastal exploration with non other than Explore In Cornwall. A chance to soak in the view, see an abundance of Cornish flora and fauna, stretch those muscles annnnd... enjoy a cup of tea at Morvah School House as a wee reward. I sat outside with a whopping great big tea cake (probably not the best marathon training food but shhhh) and an 'ansum cup of tea.
The coast path is 630 miles long- a bit longer than London Marathon distance! The terrain and view are constantly changing and it's a beautiful way to get out there and get fit. I'll certainly miss it when I return to work!
